National Assessment for NQAS Certification of Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar concluded today i.e. 24 th
July 2019 by National Assessors Dr. Abdul Rasheed, Medical Consultant and Dr. Mahtab Singh, Public Health
Professional. Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar is State certified Hospital for Quality Assurance Standards. The
assessment was started on 22 nd of July 2019 with Inaugural session, wherein Medical Superintendent, Dr.
Chander Parkash presented overview of the hospital, the journey of NQAS, facilities available the hospital,
achievements & good practices of the hospital through presentation.
Dr. Tasmina, Dy. Director Health Services (Schemes), on behalf of Health Services, Dr. Narinder
Bhatial, State Program Manager, Quality Assurance, NHM, J&K, Dr. Vijay Raina, Divisional Nodal Officer,
Quality Assurance from DHS Jammu, Consultants, Doctors, Members of Various Committees, Supervisors, I/c
of various sections of the hospital including the support staff attended the meeting.
While presenting the overview, Medical Superintendent stated that it is a very good initiative of State
Govt., Administrative Deptt of Health and Medical Education to roll out the quality standards in all the Health
institutions of the State up to PHC level to provide better and quality services to the patient. All the staff of the
hospital including Doctors, Paramedics, Supervisory, Support staff, Members of the various committees &
Incharges of the various sections has worked day and night since months together for implementing the
National Quality Standards. In addition, support of the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu and Sh. Ramesh
Kumar, IAS, DDC Jammu has played a great role.
The National Assessors assessed in depth each and every department’s checklists & presented their
observations in Closure Session today on 24 th July 2019 through power point presentation. Many good practices
have been appreciated and appreciable suggestions to meet out the some gaps were also given in presence of the
staff of the hospital and members of Civil Society including Ms. Bhanu Mahajan, Corporator, Gandhi Nagar.
The assessors also expressed their gratitude for the cooperation extended by the staff of the hospital and
administration to complete the assessment timely.
Dy. Medical Superintendent, Dr. Perupkar Singh presented the Vote of Thanks to the National Assessors
for making the staff of the hospital aware about many new things and Civil Society members to attend the
Closure session. On behalf of Hospital administration, he assured to further up-gradation of the facility and
implementation of the suggestion with involvement of Civil Society for better health care practices.
